Generate RP Data
Use the Generate RP Data function to generate the data the RP reports contain to help you determine supply requirements. When you generate RP data, you create a data subset from your purchase, sales, and work order information. This subset allows the RP reports and generation functions to run faster.
Component requirements are automatically included if you select an applicable source. For example, if you select Work Orders, any subassemblies required by a work order are included as well as the final assembled item.
For purchase orders, be aware of the purpose of the Expected Receipt Date field. It is important to use this value correctly, which will give you more accurate requirements planning data. See the PO Requested Ship Date Usage Overview for more details.
You should regenerate RP data frequently as the data is only as accurate as the last time this process was run.
